Among gynecological diseases in women of reproductive age, cervical pathology accounts for approximately 10-15% of cases. Cervical cancer is a disease that is currently one of the most common cancers of the female genitalia. The average age of patients ranges from 45 to 50 years, but in recent years, cases of cancer are detected at an earlier age. Every year, 500,000 women suffer from invasive cervical cancer worldwide. In Ukraine, cervical cancer is the leading cause of death among women of childbearing potential. It causes more deaths than tuberculosis, AIDS, and maternal mortality combined.

As a rule, cervical cancer is preceded by the appearance of precancerous changes of the cervix. Patients with cervical pathology often do not have any complaints, and therefore in many cases seek medical help for advanced forms of the disease. The main prevention of malignant processes is early detection and adequate treatment of cervical pathology.

Risk factors for cervical disease:

  • inflammatory diseases of the genital organs;
  • early sexual life;
  • 2 or more sexual partners;
  • human papillomavirus infection;
  • hormonal disorders;
  • immune disorders;
  • hereditary factor;
  • others: presence of sexually transmitted diseases, use of oral contraceptives, smoking.

One of the activities of the Damia Clinic is to diagnose cervical diseases, detect them at an early stage and prevent the development of cervical cancer. In order to diagnose the clinic spend:

  • cytological examination;
  • bacterioscopy;
  • colposcopy;
  • biopsy and histological examination of the cervical biopsy;
  • molecular-biological diagnosis of genital infections.

Colposcopy is a highly informative, non-invasive method of diagnosing cervical and vaginal diseases, which is now an integral part of the examination of women with gynecological pathology. Colposcopy allows you to suspect the occurrence of malignant diseases in the early stages of development and determine the location of the formation, when it is not yet visible to the naked eye.

Colposcopy is recommended for :

  • visually detected changes in the cervix;
  • the presence of bleeding after sexual intercourse;
  • bleeding or spotting between periods;
  • complaints of recurrent pathological discharge from the genital tract;
  • detection in women during human papillomavirus screening.

The choice of tactics for the treatment of cervical pathology is based on an individual approach to each patient.

Damia Medical Center is equipped with unique equipment for the treatment of cervical diseases – Surgitron radiowave therapy device (USA)

Radiowave surgery is a unique non-contact method of soft tissue incision and coagulation using high frequency radio waves (3.8-4.0 MHz) on the Surgitron TM device (Ellman International, Inc., USA). This universal technology has proven itself as a highly effective and atraumatic method of treatment.

The technique of radiosurgery completely eliminates thermal damage to surrounding tissues, so that:

  • healing is much faster;
  • scar tissue formation is minimal;
  • intraepidermal (superficial) formations are removed without a trace.

After radiowave surgical manipulations there are no such unpleasant consequences as pain, edema, infection. The risk of recurrence is reduced to almost zero.

During the year after treatment of background diseases of the cervix, the woman should be under the medical supervision of highly professional doctors (gynecological examination, colposcopy, cytological examination).

We diagnose and treat cervical diseases taking into account the age and generative function of the patient, the nature and severity of the process, the hormonal status of women and comorbidities.

The main principle of our work is an individual approach to each patient and the use of organ-preserving methods of treatment in women of reproductive age!
